Barry Posner

Co-author, The Leadership Challenge
Barry Posner is Accolti Professor of Leadership and former Dean (1997-2009) of the Leavey School of Business, Santa Clara University. Kouzes and Posner are the authors of The Leadership Challenge, Credibility, The Truth About Leadership, A Leader's Legacy, Encouraging the Heart, and The Student Leadership Challenge, among many other works. They also developed the high-acclaimed LPI®:Leadership Practices Inventory®.

Garry Ridge

President, Chief Executive Officer and Director
As chief executive officer and a member of the board of directors of WD-40 Company, Garry Ridge is responsible for developing and implementing high-level strategies, all operations, and the oversight of all relationships and partnerships for the company.

Garry is passionate about the learning and empowering organizational culture he has helped establish at the WD-40 Company, and his vision and leadership have positively impacted the WD-40 Company in both measurable and immeasurable ways.

Garry joined WD-40 Company in 1987 and has held various management positions in the company, including executive vice president and chief operating officer, and vice president of international. He has worked directly with WD-40 Company in over 50 countries. In 1997, he was appointed president and chief executive officer of WD-40 Company.

A native of Australia, Garry served in advisory roles for the Australian Marketing Institute and the Australian Automotive Aftermarket Association. Currently, he serves as a member of the board of governors of The San Diego Foundation, and the advisory boards of TrendSource Inc. and the University of San Diego’s School of Business Administration.

Garry is an adjunct professor at the University of San Diego where he teaches leadership development, talent management and succession planning in the Master of Science in Executive Leadership program. In 2009, he co-authored a book with Ken Blanchard outlining his effective leadership techniques, titled “Helping People Win at Work: A Business Philosophy called ‘Don’t Mark My Paper, Help Me Get an A.’ ”

Garry holds a diploma in retail and wholesale distribution from Sydney Technical College and a Master of Science in Executive Leadership from the University of San Diego.

Amy Savage

President of Fine Points Leadership
Amy Savage has worked with The Leadership Challenge material since 2000, and is a Certified Master-in-Training of The Leadership Challenge®, as well as President of Fine Points Leadership Development. As a LPI® : Leadership Practices Inventory® coach and a Leadership Challenge facilitator, she helps individuals, teams and organizations connect deeply to the 30 Behaviors, resulting in leadership transformation. 

Jody Rogers

Jody R. Rogers, PhD, FACHE is a Professor in the Graduate Program in Health Administration at Trinity University and a Program Manager responsible for teaching executive skills to healthcare professionals. He has been a Certified Master since 2010, faculty member with the American College of Healthcare Executives and speaks nationally on the importance of leadership within the healthcare industry.

Dan Schwab

Leadership Coach, Integris Performance Advisors
Dan Schwab, a Certified Master of The Leadership Challenge, began working with authors Kouzes and Posner in the early days of The Leadership Challenge Workshop.  An accomplished leadership trainer and coach, Dan has led organizational improvement efforts with myriad clients from the corporate and non- profit sectors over the past 20 years.    

Steve Skarke

Steve is the Vice President of Kaneka Americas Holding and President of The Kaneka Foundation. He's also a Certified Master within The Leadership Challenge Community working globally to advance organizational performance through leadership development and executive coaching for Kaneka Corporation and others in both the for profit and non-profit worlds.

Valarie Willis

Valarie is an accomplished speaker, facilitator, consultant, and executive coach, focused in the area of leadership development, team building, innovation, customer experience, and change. Valarie has served as a panelist and moderator and serves on non-profit boards. She is a Certified Master for The Leadership Challenge.

Valarie has worked with companies in many industries including health care, pharmaceutical, education, construction, government, manufacturing, wholesale, retail, technology, non-profit and finance. Her mission is to guide and provoke organizations to optimize business results through leadership development.   

Valarie holds a MBA from Xavier University and a B.A. from Wilmington College. She is a member of the National Speakers Association and the International Speakers Network. Valarie has been a contributing writer for Leadership Excellence, Sales and Marketing Tom Peters Company and for The Leadership Challenge newsletter.

Terence Yeung

Terence Yeung led TACSEN to become the only training company elected “Hong Kong’s Most Valuable Company” in 2012.  He works with leaders in Asia and is a frequent speakers in large conferences in Hong Kong and China.

Beth High is a Certified Master of The Leadership Challenge®. She consults internationally and delivers a wide variety of The Leadership Challenge programs in a variety of formats, from webinar series to long term blended learning programs. She co-designed The Student Leadership Challenge Certification Program and is worked on the 2nd edition of the book.

With almost 30 years of experience working with The Leadership Challenge, Sharon Landes excels at embedding The Leadership Challenge in organizational culture and is experienced customizing the program for executives, management and staff at a diverse mix of organizations.

Tom Pearce is a Leadership Coach who works with leaders and teams around the world to build stronger teams, healthier organizations, and better leaders. His personal mission is to "amplify the greatness in others." Tom is a Certified Master in Training who lives in McKinney, Texas.

With 17 years in the field of education, Erin DeStefanis serves as the senior manager for professional development for the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE). DeStefanis completed the LPI Coach Certificate Program in 2015 and has since served as a faculty member for the NACE Management Leadership Institute and Recruiter Leadership Institute.

Jo Bell

Principal, Jo Bell Leadership & Managing Partner, Third Eye Leadership
Jo Bell made the leap from Hematology to Leadership Consulting following a serendipitous, life-changing meeting with Jim Kouzes in 1987. She is a Certified Master of The Leadership Challenge® since 1998. She brings years of interpretive research and coaching expertise in using the LPI®: Leadership Practices Inventory® with a robust approach using the LPI as a compass for leadership evolution. She co-designed and leads the LPI Coach Certification and is a contributing researcher to the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th editions of The Leadership Challenge book.

Graham Moore

Bill Mugavin

Bill Mugavin has more than 25 years of management experience in the nonprofit, financial, and pharmaceutical industries. His background includes operations management, training, and international consulting at large global firms, including HSBC North America, so he understands what it takes to successfully drive performance in complex businesses. At FlashPoint he helps clients achieve their goals through results-oriented leadership development initiatives.
 
Bill has a master’s degree in education and in training and performance improvement. He’s a Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP), a senior professional in Human Resources (SPHR), and a Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP).

Emilie Perkins

Emilie has over 19 years of experience in event planning, and fundraising in the non-profit sector, and marketing and design in the for-profit arena. She joined LeadingAge Indiana in December 2001 as the Director of Training and coordinates all professional development training, conferences, trade shows, and seminars; and was promoted to Vice President of Training in 2015. She also is an Associate Faculty member at Indiana University Indianapolis where she co-teaches Non Profit Meeting Management for the Department of Tourism, Conventions and Event Management.

Kelly Ann McKnight

Kelly Ann McKnight is a Certified Master of The Leadership Challenge® and an Executive Coach from Ontario, Canada. She focuses on assessing the needs of clients and designing programs to develop appropriate skills and abilities. In addition to Leadership Challenge Workshops and Executive Coaching, she also tackles management development, behavioral profiling and team building.

Kirsten Abbott-West

Kirsten Abbott-West is currently the Director of Talent Development, Leadership and Back of House, for Universal Orlando Resort, and has been in the hospitality/entertainment industry for over 30 years. Alan Lyme

Alan Lyme, LISW, ICADC, ICCS, MAC, brings respected and innovative clinical and program management skills as the Director of Training for the Phoenix Center in Greenville, South Carolina. He is a co-author on the 2013 book “Game Plan: A Man’s Guide to Achieving Emotional Fitness”. Alan is a member of MINT (Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers), an Internationally Certified Clinical Supervisor, a Master Addictions Counselor, and a certified Level 2 Leadership Challenge Workshop trainer. Amanda Aghdami

Amanda is a Managing Vice President in Marketing Operations within Capital One’s Card Division where her team works to deliver products and features that customers love. She is deeply involving in designing and delivering Card leadership programs that accelerate development and help leaders inspire associates to deliver the Capital One Mission. In 2016, after over 20 years of being incredibly passionate about mentoring, leading and coaching, Amanda earned her Certificate in Leadership Coaching from Georgetown University and is actively building her transformational leadership coaching practice within Capital One.

Mason Chock

Mason Chock is the President of Kupu A’e Leadership Development, an outdoor experiential education company on Kauai, specializing in cultural placed based learning, adventure based therapy, team building and leadership development. Starting her career with IBM, in 2001 she was among the top 10 winners of the Woman Entrepreneur Award and in 2016 the winner of the AP Entrepreneurship Award for Business Services.

Deana Raffo

Deana Raffo serves as Associate Professor of Management in the Jones College of Business at Middle Tennessee State University. With expertise in leadership and personal development and leadership education, she particularly enjoys exploring the introspective qualities in leadership. Her research has appeared in Journal of Managerial Issues, Journal of Leadership Education, Gender in Management, among others. Last year, she was a contributor with a chapter in the book, Leading with Spirit, Presence, and Authenticity, with a chapter entitled “Reflection and Authentic Leadership.”

Ron Siers, Ph.D. is a Department Chair, Associate Professor, and Associate Head Baseball Coach at Salisbury University. Ron is an organizational leadership researcher, professor, facilitator and LPI Coach.

Rhonda Caldwell

Dr. Rhonda Caldwell, CAE, is the deputy director of the Kentucky Association of School Administrators in Frankfort, Kentucky. Caldwell co-authored her first book, “A Guide to Kentucky’s NxG Leadership Series for Onboarding New Superintendents,” as part of her doctoral thesis. She has received various state and national awards and was selected for two Education Delegations to China (2009, 2017) and has studied the Finland (2012) and Ontario (2014) education systems. She is currently pursuing certified master status to bring The Leadership Challenge® to Kentucky’s education leaders.

Karen Harold

Karen Harold is a private mediator, professional facilitator, and the founder of Conflict Coaching Company. Known as “The Conflict Coach”, Karen has worked in the violence prevention, survivor advocacy, and peace building field for over 20 years.

Her professional qualifications include certification for mediation as well as memberships with the American Bar Association, National Anger Management Association, American Counseling Association, and registration with the California State Bar. She received her basic POST certification from a regional law enforcement academy before becoming a California police officer, and later received workplace mediation training from Mediation Training Institute International.
